DRMM FIRST ANNUAL HARAVEST FESTIVAL Pumpkins, autumn leaves, Fall colors and clowns welcomed the citizens welcomed the citizens of Highland Park as they attended the first annual Harvest Festival hosted by the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries. Close to 200 men, women and children were welcomed by DRMM staff and vendors from Gleaners, American Heart Association, Black Family Development, Communicating Arts Credit Union, Charter One Bank, DMC, Karmanos, and Wayne Metro who provided vital services and information. The children enjoyed an afternoon of games and pumpkin painting provided by the DRMM Wildwood Ranch staff. The attendee’s enjoyed musical selections proved by the DRMM choir, the Beasley Brothers and special guest, young recording star Xavier Terrance Clark Jr. The colorful Life Challenge Women’s Ministry Clowns brought laughter and excitement as they shaped animals from brilliant balloons along with face painting for the children. Food sponsors for the event included Forgotten Harvest, Gordon Foods, Sav-A-Lot and DRMM’s own Cornerstone Bistro. |
