Diane’s Testimony

In church, in Jail, the sermon was on being sincere or serious. The service that morning told me to be still and listen to the word of God; Seriously.

I reflected back on what got me in Jail. I was shot in a crack house. Then, I had Prayed to God, “P1ease don't let me die.'' He had listened to my prayer “seriously”.

After recuperating, I went back to drugs and to jail again. After I got out, I went back to my addiction, not caring if I lived any more. I prayed to God to take me out of my misery. Instead, by the grace of God, I entered Genesis House I.

Beaten and hopeless, it was time to get serious. I got on my knees, and guess what? God got serious too! I asked God to forgive me; I asked for courage and strength “seriously”.

Because I take God and my life seriously, my sentence was reduced from 6-10 years in prison to 1 year in a long term treatment facility. If not for this spiritual place, I would not have God in my life. I'd be in prison or worse -- dead. Thank you Genesis House I. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
