Substance Abuse Services

Substance Abuse Treatment (residential and outpatient).  Residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment has two major components.

1.      The Substance Detoxification Stabilization Program operated by DRMM Medical Services.  Medical Services, overseen by a licensed physician, include physical assessments of patients in the substance abuse detoxification stabilization programs and residential substance abuse treatment services, health assessments and referrals, medication monitoring and sick call services.

2.      Substance Abuse Treatment services.  Referrals for substance abuse treatment services typically come through the Detroit Health Department, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services. Substance Abuse Treatment services include:

·        Individual, family, and group therapy and counseling.

·         Addiction and relapse treatment.

·        Relapse prevention support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Alcoholics for Christ.

·        Case management

·         Recreation

·        Services for children of residents.

·        Job training and legal services or psychiatric therapy, psychological testing and housing placement for those in some programs.
